Summary:
Responsible for generating CNC programs through the use of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software including process sheets and Operations Packages.
This individual must be capable of designing work holding fixtures.
Maintains established manufacturing standards and practices Assignments are complex.
Provides input for the decision making process as it relates to the development of manufacturing processes and procedures.
Job Model:
On-Site On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities:
Apply creative engineering principals and theories.
Solve moderately difficult technical/quality problems.
Reviews and evaluates proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements.
Review and recommend changes to materials and manufacturing processes.
Acts as liaison between production, planning, quality assurance, manufacturing and engineering personnel.
Assists other programmers with the proper application of machining cycles and processes as required.
Works with manufacturing personnel to implement new programs and processes Complexity of Duties:

Proficient in reading and interpreting and editing G Code programs.
Proficient in the operation of at least one type of CAM software system to create programs for the following types of machines:
2 axis lathes, 3, 4 and 5 axis Mills Knowledge of program creation for 4 axis lathes as well as Mill / Turn Centers.
Knowledge of the proper application of high speed machining techniques used in milling.
Education and/or
Experience:
Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent in technical experience.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 5 years CAM programming experience.
Other Skill and Abilities:
Strong communication skills required both verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Confidently provide technical leadership.
Ability to work under frequently changing priorities and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to solve practical and complex problems.
Ability to be flexible in uncertain or unpredictable situations.
Ability to use sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.
Knowledge of parametric (Fanuc Macro B) programming language helpful.
